You won’t believe your eyes

As you look upon these photos, I will ask you to think about the flowers you see on the street, in the stores, etc. These flowers are pretty and pleasing to the eye, but many hold beautiful details which are hard for the average eye to focus upon in passing. In our photos for florists, we focus on the beautiful details from afar and up close to really emphasize the absolute beauty upon each stem.

Aren’t these photos stunning? The difficult of photographing flowers comes from the ability to be able to recognize features. In photographing for florists, we have learned the angles and details these flowers, to help us capture such great shots. In the future, I think it would be amazing to be hired to travel & capture the different types of flowers that florists offer. Raising Cane’s recently released a 2019 calendar, and we were once again hired to capture the photographs. Our work with Cane III over the past year has been absolutely incredible. Not only have we watched her grow physically, but we have witnessed her intelligence grow as well.

Who exactly is Cane III?

Overall, Cane III is the ultimate face of Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers. Cane III, just like her predecessor Cane II, is a fully-trained service dog. Moreover, she is just as obedient as she is cute (and let’s be honest, she’s pretty darn cute). The ability to capture photos of animals is not always an easy task, but Cane’s training aids in the process tremendously. Cane has been locally trained by Larry Benoit, and boy has he done a fabulous job. Cane’s intelligence is beyond belief, and she is absolutely astonishing to work with.

What the calendar’s all about:

Working with Raising Cane’s throughout the years has held great honors, but this calendar holds closest to our hearts. In capturing these photos and contributing to the calendar itself, Raising Cane’s has been able to significantly contribute to the community. For each calendar sold, Raising Cane’s donated all proceeds to local pet-welfare organizations. These organizations were each hand chosen by restaurant managers, and made the contribution that much more special. Knowing that in capturing these photos of Cane for the calendar, we were able to assist in aiding our community, makes our job that much more special.

An interjection regarding the cuteness overload-

Seriously, can we just talk about how cute Cane III is? As a result of her training & our experience, we are able to capture beautiful shots of her like these. Then of course, it is printed and published so all of you can relish in the cuteness as well.

Telling a story with the photos-

The photo above is probably my absolute favorite photo in this entire calendar. So much effort goes into telling a true story behind every photo. In this photo, you can sense the fun and playful side of Cane III. Your interpretation of this photo, and the others in this blog, is aided by this visuals of the actual still-shot. No matter where you image this shot taken, or what you think the actual scenario was, it is clear to see that fun was had.

Drew Brees has nothing on Cane III (but we still love him)-

I personally am not one for choosing any particular person for being the most valuable, but I think we can all agree Cane III wins the Most Valuable Pup trophy this year.

Sit back, relax, and know we’ve got it handled-

In conclusion, as I follow along in my calendar over the next year, I will eventually reach an end. This end will be followed by a new beginning. New faces, new job opportunities, and many other firsts are all on my resolutions. December 2019 will mean another year of watching Cane III grow more and more. We will continue to progress in our career and I hope that by December of this year, we will be able to say that we aided you and your corporation in all your photography needs as well.

Top Golf Baton Rouge will be opening soon- and we are sharing our excitement, experience, and photos with you!

Baton Rouge has been buzzing with questions regarding the opening of Top Golf. Now, the opening date has been revealed, & we know what you all will be doing this weekend !

We were hired by Top Golf to provide exclusive photos of it’s Baton Rouge location- and boy were we stoked. A true sense of honor is instilled in us that a corporation of this matter, was able to identify that we as a local-based business could provide the absolute best photos for them.

To begin, I know what you are all wondering: Is it awesome? What does it look like? Is it really as nice as everyone says? Do you have be a golfer to actually enjoy going? Relax. In this blog, I am answering all of these questions & letting you know exactly what to expect (and providing photo evidence).

Do I have to play golf to enjoy going?

To start, I would like to say that as someone who does not even know how to swing a golf club, I still had an amazing time- and I know you will too. Here’s why: first, the atmosphere is absolutely magical, seriously it’s like amusement park energy in that place. Next, there’s a bar, so you can just sit, sip, and brag about how much fun you’re having. Lastly, and most importantly FOOD- no seriously, the food here is spectacular. As a result, fun can be had by all guests. Olympian athlete Lolo Jones and fellow all-star athletes along with DJ Cristy Lawrence (pictured below) prove that everyone can have a great time.

Overhyped or Outstanding?

Look, it probably sounds as if this post was sponsored by the way I am bragging about it, but I promise it wasn’t. Honestly, it was seriously just that good you guys.

Listen, the photos we were able to capture at this location were absolutely incredible. Sure, you could say it’s because we have good cameras, or we are just really good at our jobs, but the atmosphere and individuals are what really tied these photos together. The people in these photos weren’t paid to smile, or pretend to have a good time and enjoy their meals. We captured real moments of people laughing, enjoying themselves, golfing, eating, drinking, etc. This is what we do for a living, but it is also what drives our passion.

At a recent LSU football game in Baton Rouge,La I decided to bring along my Nikon D800 still camera and try out the new time lapse feature built into it.  I shoot the games from the north end zone scoreboard for the video crew and it seemed like the perfect place to set up my camera and give it a try.  To set up the shot, I brought along my lightweight Monfrotto tripod and my Vanguard 200 ball head.  I ran the time lapse for an hour and a half and set the camera up from my media deck.  I used aperture priority as I knew the light would be changing and I would be running the TV camera and not able to monitor or change any settings on the camera throughout this time frame.  I went back and checked the camera at half time and this is what I got!  This new time lapse feature of the D800 is simply awesome.  It is simple to do and puts out a finished product at the end.  You simply set the time duration, the shots interval, and it even tells you how long the final quicktime movie is going to be when done.  Hit start and your done, let it rip.  The camera takes a still image at the preset interval and temporarily writes it to your memory card.  Once the timer has run its course, the processor in the camera then combines all these still images into the pre specified frame rate you chose and outputs an easy to use, ready to work with quicktime movie file.  After the movie file is created the camera then deletes all the still images off of your memory cards to free up space for whatever you want to shoot next.  You could not really ask for a simpler way to do time lapse video.
